Dissemination of new project for students from Great Britain at Ekonomska šola Murska Sobota, Višja strokovna šola

On Monday, 7August 2017, the participants of the EU project »Placements in Environmental, Archaeological and Traditional Skills – PEATS« attended the presentation of the new project »Unity in Diversity«. The students from Great Britain were on mobility, doing their work placement in the Prekmurje region in Slovenia within the above mentioned project. First I introduced the previous project »Key Skills for Hotel Industry Staff« so that they could easier follow the presentation of the new project »Language skills and intercultural issues in the hospitality industry: unity in diversity in the EU labour market«. I presented the tasks and texts for A2/B1 and B2/C1 language level and the interactive maps as well as the mobile applications. Then I continued with the material that has been prepared in the new project so far and is available on the new platform. I presented them tasks in different languages so that they could see the variety of languages and explained that the old platform offered 12 languages but the new platform already offers four more, 16 altogether. They found it very useful that different language levels are available – from A1 to C1. As they have been in Slovenia for two weeks now they have already learned some words, phrases and sentences and they would like to learn more. With the new platform and the material they will have the opportunity to do so. I also mentioned that the platform and all the material from the previous project are accessible free for anyone who wants to learn a new language or improve their language skills as well as for students, teachers, people employed in the hotel industry or tourists. And the new platform will also have free access for anyone interested. I also gave them leaflets about the project to find more information and contact data.
