Presentation and dissemination of the project at Srednja šola za gostinstvo in turizem Celje

The presentation and dissemination of the project took place from 1 – 31 October 2018 at Srednja šola za gostinstvo in turizem Celje. We had four workshops, where the participants could use the e-learning platform and solve the tasks. There were 15 teachers participating in the workshop.

The presentation and workshops were carried out within the national project Munera 3 which offers people employed in the education sector to take part in different training courses to improve their competences due to the needs on the labour market, better employability and mobility between working areas as well as personal development and functioning in modern society.

I started the presentation of the project by presenting the previous project “Key skills for Hotel industry Staff” first because it was easier to understand the idea of the new project “Language skills and intercultural issues in the hospitality industry: unity in diversity in the EU labour market”. I then briefly presented the language courses for all levels – A1, A2/B1, B1/C1 and C1 and showed some examples for different languages and how the system grades the tasks so that every participant can get feedback on the work done. Furthermore, I mentioned the additional materials, such as curricula, guidelines, etc., available on the platform.

After a more detailed demonstration of A1 modules the participants choose different languages to solve the tasks offered. The first workshop ended with the agreement that all participants would do some more tasks at home to get used to the e-learning platform and the types of tasks. In the following three workshops I presented the modules A2/B1, B2/C1 and C1 in more detailed. Each presentation was then followed by an intensive workshop, where the participants choose different languages and tasks and solved them. The idea was also for each participant to find the material, topics and tasks they could use in class with their students.
