The conference took place on Tuesday, 25 September 2018, at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Ljubljana.
The main goal of the ‘Research in Education and Training’ annual scientific conference was the dissemination of research results and the exchange of experiences, identification of key issues, challenges and obstacles in education as well as the promotion and development of research in general. As the subtitle of the conference was ‘International Cooperation as Support to Education and Training’ it also aimed at highlighting the role and importance of international cooperation in supporting education and training.
To understand the idea of the project “Language skills and intercultural issues in the hospitality industry: unity in diversity in the EU labour market” the participants of the conference were briefly informed about the previous project “Key Skills for Hotel Industry Staff”. I presented the language courses for all levels – A1, A2/B1, B1/C1 and C1. I showed them examples for different languages and how the system grades the tasks so that every participant can get feedback on the work done. The participants of the conference were quite impressed with the materials available in 16 European languages and liked the concept of different levels so the e-learning platform is useful for different kinds of learners.
